So Evelyn's been taking a step here and there, adding a few more each day, but still has been mostly just crawling. She is a lightning fast crawler so I have been anticipating even more running after her when she got around to walking. But, today it was like she just woke up and decided, "Today is the day I start sparing my knees. I shall walk today!"
We were out riding bikes; Finley on his bike with training wheels and Evelyn sitting on his go-cart as I push her around. At one point, Finley had parked his bike and was looking at something else so his bike was just standing there, unattended. Evelyn got up and took eight steps on her own so she could grab the handle bars! The rest of the day she tried to walk whenever she could. Longest stretch was about 12 steps in the house where she has the advantage of even ground. Even outside on our knobby grass she walked about 5 steps to the sandbox. She looks like a little drunken sailor! Very sweet and fun to watch how proud she is of herself. As Finley likes to say, "We're in trouble now!" Thank goodness she's slower at walking right now than she is at crawling!
I am embarrassed to say I have no pictures from today! I will take some tomorrow and maybe a little movie if I can manage it. My camera's memory is full and I've been meaning to empty the card and yada yada yada....

Next thing you know she will be riding that bike and then driving a a car and so on and so forth!
Evelyn's cousin Grady has gotten word of her progress and started taking a few steps himself. He doesn't officially walk yet, but he's putting the steps together.
