Heat Wave

MMMMMMmmmm... Summer really might happen! Today and yesterday were nice and hot. Yesterday was into the 90s. Would have been wonderful except we had to get dressed up and go to a friend's benefit event in Seattle for Orphans Africa. A very cool organization but nonetheless, we would rather have been sitting at home with ice tea and our feet in the kiddie pool. I did enjoy getting to play music with my dear friends, Tom and Jan and got to see some other people dear to my heart at the event. We got home around 10:30 p.m. to a stuffy house. We set up our fans in the upstairs windows though, and it was nice and cool in about 30 minutes.

Today, my parents came over after church to talk about house plans. Mom brought cookies and we made ice tea and set up the canopy on the back porch. It was very pleasant. The kids played in the sandbox and the little pool. Finley has been having fun with frisbees and gliders and disks. He's getting more coordinated with throwing them. Todd found water rockets at the dollar store so that added a lot of fun this afernoon too. All in all a very pleasant weekend.
